material development
Cordierite honeycomb, which is used as a catalyst support or diesel particle filter made of honeycomb-shaped structures, is expanding its importance due to the ever-increasing interest in air pollution and increased laws and regulations. Ceramic honeycomb is a porous material that increases structural strength, increases activity by increasing the specific surface area morphologically, and has good ventilation, which can lower pressure loss. It also has a low coefficient of thermal expansion and is resistant to thermal shock. CERACOMB’s honeycomb material technology is striving for research and development and commercialization without boiling based on its accumulated know-how over 30 years.
Currently, activated carbon adsorbents are used to remove low-concentration odorous substances, and there is a disadvantage that periodic replacement is required. The zeolite adsorbent we are developing is a room temperature decomposition honeycomb that does not require a separate heat source, and has low pressure loss and long replacement cycles due to the honeycomb structure. It is also changing from activated carbon to zeolite to increase filtration of odorous substances and improve adsorption.
